Violins

Hello all,

I'm looking for a sad, mournful, or otherwise depressing (but not depressingly bad) song played exclusively on the violin (viola will do in a pinch).  I would prefer violin solos, but if you know a good duet, quartet, quintet, etc... please don't hesitate to point it out.

I always like Tomaso Albinoni's Adagio in G Minor. Granted, it's an entire string section rather than a solo violin, but it's moving:

The intro to this one is long, but it's a solo violin piece. It's really kind of a short piece without the intro, lol.

This one I haven't played before, but when I think slow mournful violin solos, I think the theme from Schindler's List.

i've had this idea for a horror/drama that would be driven by a theme involving a violin...since i don't have a violin myself, i just had to use a keyboard. it probably sounds corny but this was what i've come up with so far. it's sad and mournful. it's pretty simplistic, tho...
